چکیده
Amrtottara Kvatha [KNM3] (AK) is a widely used Ayurvedic preparation, primarily utilized for hyperpyrexia (‘Jwara’). In the present study we evaluated antidiabetic effect of AK against streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic murine model. The effects on normoglycemic rats and glucose tolerance were also studied. was in (STZ, 55 mg/kg, i.p.) rats. administered orally at four doses (1/4), (1/2), (T) (DD) fourteen days to examine activity with glibenclamide (5 mg/kg) as reference standard. blood insulin levels, biochemical parameters, oxidative stress biomarkers histopathological examinations Oral administration diabetes showed significant (P<0.01) decrease levels improved liver glycogen pancreatic protein content. BACKGROUND Ojamin (OJ), a polyherbal antidiabetic formulation, is extensively used as a food supplement to control diabetes alone or along with synthetic antidiabetic agents. However, it's phytochemical and pharmacological investigations are lacking. OBJECTIVE The present study was undertaken to study antidiabetic and antihyperlipidemic potentials of OJ and its interaction with Metformin in s...

متن کاملTroxerutin, a bioflavonoid, improves oxidative stress in blood of streptozotocin-induced type-1 diabetic rats
Type 1 diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by the body's inability to produce insulin due to destruction of the beta cells. There is increasing evidence that reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a major role in the development of diabetic complications. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of troxerutin administration on oxidative stress markers in blood of STZ-induced ...
